I’m Joseph Lawrence, and Stephen Davis and I are the co-founders of Choice Press. Thank you for taking the time today to read a little about what we do. Choice Press was envisioned by acclaimed author Stephen Davis and me as an innovation that we believe will change one of the oldest industries in the world for the better:

There are many “vanity presses” that offer to print a manuscript in 24 hours and get a listing on Amazon. You get what you pay for: the quality of the book is poor, and the total lack of marketing/design means these books never go anywhere. It doesn’t sell! On the other hand, successfully pitching a manuscript to a well-established publisher is like winning the lottery, and even then: you still must do your own marketing, and if it sells, they take all the money!

Choice Press is that third way. I wish I had access to Choice Press when I published my first book, a dramatic poem called A Town of James. I worked so hard on it, and it never went anywhere. Why?
